After the opening of the Uruguayan pavilion at Expo Milan, the Uruguay Natural-Parrilla Gourmet restaurant has a list of reservations from consumers who are desirous to taste Uruguayan meats.
With the “Life grows in Uruguay” slogan, the Uruguayan pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 shows the attributes of the country regarding environmental care, energy and food origin. The place has spaces where visitors may experience Uruguayan cuisine, culture, landscapes and traditions; it also includes areas for business meetings and trading of typical products.

Our country is one of the 145 exhibitors represented at Expo Milan 2015. Different solutions to the “Feed the planet, energy for life” issue are shown in that framework.

The building, characterized by an innovative design, is located on a privileged spot over one of the main avenues of the universal exhibition.

The structure of this three-story building of 785 m2 is fully detachable. It was built with recyclable materials, in compliance with the rules of the exhibition.

The façade is a suspended surrounding structure that combines wooden rustic pieces and vertical steel elements, whereas the inner part of the building is covered in a white matt piece that opens in curvilinear cuts that will define the contact with the soil and the public square.

A spiral-like perimeter ramp goes all over its oval shape allowing access to the different levels. Inside, the pavilion has an exhibition area, where visitors are shown audiovisual presentations about Uruguay.

It also has a restaurant of the “Uruguay Natural - parrilla gourmet-" franchise, where it is possible to taste Uruguayan “parrilla”, prepared with meat certified under the Uruguay Natural Club protocol of the National Meat Institute.

The restaurant under the direction of four internationally renowned Uruguayan chefs delighted visitors with typical dishes. With Uruguayan premium meat as raw material and a careful selection of Uruguayan wines and olive oils, chefs Tomás Bartesaghi, Eduardo Iturralde, Rodrigo Fernández and Agustín Urrusty opened the doors of the "parrilla gourmet” in Milan.
