INAC at ANUGA exhibition in Germany

Date: 11/03/2015

INAC took part of Anuga with a 400-m2 stand between 10th and 14th October
This time the Uruguayan delegation was composed by 60 people, including representatives of meat processors, exporters and brokers.
The Board of INAC was represented in Anuga by the Chairman Federico Stanham, Guillermo Pigurina and José Mesa, representatives of the industry and of the farmers, respectively.

Apart from the beef tastings usually offered at INAC's stand, on Monday 12th October, a special reception was organized for customers of the Uruguayan meat industry, and on Tuesday 13th October a dinner was held at one of the restaurants of the Block House chain.

Next to Rhine River, at a luxurious restaurant, the National Meat Institute received customers of the Uruguayan meat industry yesterday noon; about 200 guests took part of this activity.

The Chairman of INAC, Federico Stanham, addressed the audience in English, thanked them for their presence and reminded that this year UNESCO listed as world heritage the old Anglo meatpacking plant in the city of Fray Bentos. He stressed the fact that this is one of the firsts, if not the first global meat industry in South America or even the world.

Later the plant was acquired by English capitals, and in 1920 started exporting the world-wide reknowned corned beef under the Fray Bentos brand, which made the city known as the world's kitchen.

Stanham also said that these news make Uruguayans very proud but also are a tribute to all those related to the meat industry, given that it is the only world heritage listed by UNESCO that is related to said industry.

This exhibition alternates with SIAL Paris and is considered the most important in Europe, where trends of the food sector are presented. Over 6,000 exhibitors from 95 countries and some 160,000 visitors from 156 countries gather together at Anuga to make business operations and business contacts.
