SEIIC - Black Boxes figures

Date: 09/28/2010

Members of SEIIC - Black boxes from INAC (Hugo Koncke, Daniel Abraham) and members from SIRA-SNIG from the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fishery (Maria Nela Gonzalez and Gabriel Osorio) received the press at the Stand in Expo Prado.

As of May 2007, when the first herds were published on the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry - SEIIC-black boxes web, 7 million animals have passed through the system.

This information is relevant and allows INAC to publish without the need to wait for the sworn statement, important data for the meat trade such as: yield in classification (Stage 2, ex second scale), dressing (stage 3), summary of slaughtered heads, daily information for the producer, also offering information for statistics.

The producer can, this way, access to a historic comparative of the yield of his cattle sent to slaughter with the historic average national yield.

Likewise, the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry, SEIIC, started to use a new channel to send information from the industrial plants to INAC regarding cattle buying-selling operations.

This is being carried out using the same technological infrastructure which sends data of animal weight at slaughter, and has been operating satisfactorily.

The new procedure places our country in an outstanding position at international level regarding capturing speed of commercial information.

In a few months the system will be completely stabilized opening new possibilities to disseminate complete and updated economic information on the cattle market.
