IMS Economics Workshop in Montevideo

The 2nd. IMS Economics Workshop ended in Montevideo with a dinner to which the President of the Republic, Jose Mujica attended.

In a confidential meeting, INAC's President, Dr. Alfredo Fratti welcomed the specialists, prior to the beginning of the World Meat Congress, which will take place in Buenos Aires.

The first meeting of this group of economists was held in The Netherlands last year, organized by IMS, with 45 participants of 20 countries.

In this second event there were 50 economists from the meat chain, from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, China, France, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark, Russia and Uruguay.

This activity was organized by IMS and INAC.

During the closure of the first day of activities INAC's President, Dr. Alfredo Fratti, and Patrick Moore, President of IMS addressed all the attendants.

The President of the Institute explained the characteristics of production of our country and specially thanked the opportunity to have such an important international delegation, in a small country but with an interesting development of technology added to the final product.

The attendants had optional activities on the last day of the event, one to an abbatoir to see the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry SEIIC - Black Boxes and a tour to butchers and supermarkets.
