During the Conference "From farm to table" INAC presented achievements and challenges existing in the domestic market. Accountant Valentina Herrera from the Domestic Market Control Directorate showed the main meat indicators in Uruguay.

Herrera stated that the trend confirmed is that Uruguayan people are going back to eating boneless meat. Within the achievements highlighted there is the fact that beef consumption remained stable and by the end of this year will have reached a figure close to 60 Kg per capita.

As regards commercialization, she stressed information such as preferences at butcher's shops and supermarkets. In this case she reported that in Montevideo sheep meat is mainly sold at butcher's shops and pigmeat at supermarkets.

After indicators were presented there was a roundtable on the vision of operators, coordinated and hosted live by Sergio Puglia from Radio Sarandí. This discussion group was integrated by representatives of supermarkets, butcher's shops, slaughterplants and INAC.
