INAC's President launched the Uruguay Natural – Parrilla Gourmet franchise for theme restaurants. This is a strategic project for the promotion of meats supported by farmers, industry and government, Dr. Alfredo Fratti stated.

“Uruguay Natural-Parrilla Gourmet” is an international franchise based on a successful business model with institutional support from Uruguay, tested at Expo Zaragoza 2008, Expo Shanghai 2010 and at the tourist seaside resort of Algarve, Portugal from 2009 to date.

The essence of this proposal, that attracts customers and builds strong brand awareness is the wood fired grill, the decoration of premises, the friendliness of staff dressed in typical costumes, and the excellent quality of Uruguayan certified natural meats, prepared and presented in Uruguayan style.

Fratti said the Restaurant will be a kind of Uruguayan Embassy in the world; a different project with a style of its own.

The Franchise is a business format that implies the chain reproduction of a successful model intended for the trading of goods and services, by which a natural or legal person grants to another person for a certain period the use of a brand, including the corresponding know-how transfer.

The proposal of theme restaurants offers advantages to franchisees, for it gives them the possibility to exploit a food service business with the support of prestigious brands such as “Uruguay Natural” and “INAC”. It is also supported by the institutional commitment of different relevant actors of the country, such as farmers, meat processors and packers, Ministries, and the Presidency of the Republic.

Fernando Gil from INAC presented this strategy and the contents of the brand used in this project. According to information provided by the Franchise Fair, the franchise system has an annual growth rate of 12% to 14% and has become the most used commercial expansion model worldwide.
